About PIRSE-IEHRI

PIRSE-IEHRI is a Swiss think tank that brings together interdisciplinary expertise to understand and address complex interactions between human health and the environment. Facing contemporary health challenges with major societal implications, we develop a systemic approach that transcends disciplinary boundaries.

Our methodology combines research and operational vision. We analyze emerging issues at the health-environment interface, synthesize available scientific knowledge, and translate this expertise into accessible and applicable guidance. This evidence-based approach aims to inform public debate and guide the development of public health and environmental policies.

Our work addresses three complementary audiences: the scientific and academic community, political and institutional decision-makers, and the general public. By creating synergies between these different actors, we contribute to building integrated responses to health-environment challenges.

Round Table Synthesis Report - February 2025

In partnership with the Laboratory for Science and Technology Studies at the University of Lausanne, PIRSE organized an interdisciplinary round table bringing together leading experts to examine current challenges in endocrine disruptor research and regulation in Switzerland. This synthesis report captures perspectives from environmental toxicology, public health, political science, and sociology.

The report examines the scientific complexity of these substances, institutional fragmentation in governance, and regulatory gaps while identifying concrete solutions for interdisciplinary collaboration and evidence-based policy development. Key findings include the need for enhanced coordination between research disciplines, improved science-policy interfaces, and targeted communication strategies for healthcare professionals and the public.
